Topdeck’s passion is “providing unforgettable travel experiences for 18-30 somethings”. The goal of the Web site redesign was to portray this message online, and inspire site visitors into action (by booking!).
Strategy
The design unashamedly appeals to the audience, through liberal use of photography and the user-interface itself. The navigation is clear, and directs people through the booking path.
The site embraces Topdeck’s tagline of “Share the experience”, and brings it to life online with a splash of Web 2.0.
The Solution
Finding tours is a fast and easy experience, and can be achieved through browsing or search.
From each Tour Details page visitors can ‘Share this Experience’ with their friends via Email, del.icio.us, Stumbleupon, Digg, reddit, or Facebook. Alternatively visitors can view other’s ‘Shared Experiences’ by reading posts in the Forum, viewing Flickr photos and watching clips posted to YouTube. This interactivity is not only seamless with the site design, but also the tagline of the company itself!
Results
The new site design has been incredibly well received by our customers, and has significantly increased site traffic and revenue through online and offline bookings.
The Topdeck Web site was winner of the Best Tour Operator Web site award in the 2008 TravelMole Awards, and a finalist in the 2008 Travolution Awards, again in the Best Tour Operator Web site category.
