BHP Billiton is a global mining, oil and gas company, they are Australia’s largest company and the third largest in the world by market capitalisation.
Reactive were selected by BHP Billiton to redesign their Global corporate Web site in a modern and functional way while taking into careful consideration their audience and business requirements.
As a global company, BHP Billiton needed to ensure that their Web site messaging was consistent and represented the scale of the organization online while combining easy user navigation and sleek technical design. The target audience for the Web site comprises of shareholders, clients and job seekers so the structure of the design had to be to an industry leading standard that would engage each and every user to the site.
Design & Strategy
BHP Billiton wanted to ensure that the site remained user friendly for every user and impressed with a sophisticated design. A thorough process was undertaken with two sets of usability testing to ensure the information architecture was suitable for real users. The result is a simple but sleek interface which touches on the core values of the company through key messaging.
Solution
The Web site technical solution was provided by Accenture and Avanade, with Reactive providing the information architecture and interface design. An important aspect of the project was a seamless handover between Reactive and Avanade, and implementation support to ensure the technical solution stayed true to the agreed designs. Reactive and the technical team formed a great working partnership, and worked collaboratively to meet the project deadlines and ensure a quality result for BHP Billiton.
Results
